    Lightbulb Query including field names with .value attached. How do I get rid of these? Image attached.

ID:	47665 Help. Can someone explain why I'm seeing these fields when I do a query? All three tables (Material Type, Category, Audience) also have similar field names? Its the field names that have the .value attached in query. For instance, MaterialType also has additional field MaterialType.Value. Incidentally all 3 are tables that are also linked to fields for a drop down box in the main table. I think it has something to do with the table set up but I've tried to change to list with no luck. I don't want to have to re-enter over 200 pieces of data.

    I have only seen with multi-value fields. However, not seeing .Value anywhere in that image.

    I do see spaces and punctuation/special characters in field names - advise to avoid that.
    How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

    It looks like OP plans users working with tables instead of forms, and fields Material Type, Category and Audience in main table are linked ones! My advice is to start anew from zero!

    @Shawtaw
    Please provide some descriptive material regarding the purpose of your database and more details of the query involved. As others have suggested embedded spaces in field names could/will lead to syntax issues and should be avoided. Investigate the use of forms for all user interaction. Users should not have direct access to tables. It seems you are new to database/Access so I suggest you do some research on designing and using databases - see the link in my signature for some related articles and tutorials.

    Well that's a relief, thought I was going blind there for a moment.

    That also looks like they are using look ups in tables directly.
