Can't install MS Access ACCDB and ACCDR

    Hi,

I have installed the following software on a laptop:
    https://www.microsoft.com/nl-be/down....aspx?id=50040 / Microsoft Access Runtime.
    The access files were recognized.
The frontend is an ACCDR and the backend is an ACCDB.
When I try to open the ACCDB I get the following message:
    Security notice for Microsoft Access.
Warning: There is no way to determine whether this content is from a trusted source.
It is recommended not to enable this content,
unless the content provides essential functionality and you trust the source.

When I click on open I only have "Open" in the top bar and when I click on this I only have Print, Privacy options and Exit on the left.
I can't figure it out. Please help.

    Tx

    regards

    Michel

access runtime does not give you the ability to view or edit table design - to do that you need a full version of access. It also only provides a limited menu/ribbon and does not provide the navigation window or shortcut menus or allow manual editing of queries, forms, reports or modules.

the security notice is standard and will appear for all files that are not in a trusted location.

renaming a file as .accdr is primarily for the benefit of developers who want to test their app in a runtime environment. Providing it to users provides a small level of protection from users with full versions of access who might want to edit files, but easily overcome if the user changes the filename back again. To protect forms/reports and code, supply as a .accde. If the user only has runtime then it doesn't matter in principle whether you supply .accdr, .accde or .accdb. But nothing to stop the user from copying the file to another device with a full version of access.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
