"Could not lock file" error message

I have a split db. and on one workstation, I'm trying to link front end to back end and get "Could not lock file". the rest of the workstations link just fine.

Thinking there may be some problem with connectivity, but i can access other server files, so i'm not sure.

    any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    John

make sure that user can open tables. They may not have rights.

sometimes false errors occur when there's a REFERENCE missing. Enter VBE (alt-F11) , tools, references, ...make sure no checked items are MISSING.
