Only first record in database is editable (subsequent records are not)

    This is Access 97 !
It is in use by a customer of mine. Sadly the designer is now dead.

However I am hoping that the issue might be common to later versions.

The database has been working but now only the first record is editable.
I have run Compact, then repair several times.

The compact reduced the file from about 50Mb to 2 so that worked but it has not solved the problem.

I hope someone can assist as I do not know Access very well

    Welcome to the forum

Haven't you already asked this question at another forum?

Anyway, the issue (whatever it is) almost certainly isn't anything to do with Access 97.
You should be able to test that for yourself by running the database in another version.

We would need more details in order to have any chance at assisting you find a solution.

BTW I suggest you change your username. Not a good idea to use your email address
