Question Can't see visual basic code

All visual basic code for all forms in the data base appear to have disappeared. A command button is on the form and when I click the button and then click "view code" there is nothing there. Is there a setting that I am missing that could have gotten altered? How could the code completely disappear?

does 'view code' take you to the vbe? in the vbe, are there any forms in the project explorer window? is the database's vba project collapsed in the project explorer window?

and finally...does the form's 'has module' property been switched to 'no'??

yes, view code does take me to the visual basic editor

I assume the project explorer window is in the upper left portion of the page and starts with Project - then appears my data base name. The form I am editing appears in that window. Need a little more explanation concerning you question about the location of the collapsed window please.

the has module property of the form is yes

an expanded proj. window looks like this:

a collapsed one hides the folders, which contain separate folders for class objects (forms, reports, etc...) and modules...

also, what is the 'default to full modal view' checkbox marked under the options? ...

if it is not, to see any code when you switch to the VBE requires you to pick from the class list of events under a form's object code. I believe 'view code' would take you directly to it though...

My expanded project window only shows the form I am currently editing. Not sure if that is significant or not. Your example shows multiple forms.

My 'default to full modal view' was checked.

aside from double clicking on the form in the project explorer window, I'm not sure how to help. Sometimes you can open the vbe and a blank white screen will appear and you have to double click an object to activate it's code window...
