    Split Database Back End password

I have a database already split and I wanted to put a password on the back end. When I open up the front end and try to navigate through the forms it says "Not a valid password".

Is there somewhere I need to go / something I need to do to link up the two now that a password has been created?

Nevermind, one of those situations where you find the answer right after you ask for help. Just gotta re-import the back end tables, which was a small annoyance.

I am having this same problem and am new to Access 2010. (Last time I used Access was 2003) Would you please be more specific about "re-import the back-end tables"? How does one re-import the tables?
    Thanks for any help! :-)

    Thumbs up

I have this error and this is how I fixed it pretty easily.

Microsofts help page states that this error occurs when your password ends in a slash (/). My password did not end in a / but did end in a @. Either way, you can try this and it will most likely work.

Open Access > Open > select your BACK END file > click the small arrow next to the OPEN button > choose exclusive > click Open > Database Tools > Decrypt Database > enter your current password > click Encrypt with password > enter a password that does not end in a symbol (/@#$%..etc) > Manage > Compact & Repair Database > Close Access.

Open your FRONT END file > External Data > Import > Access > find your BACK END file > select Link to the.... > select what you want to be linked > click OK > Enter your new password > Manage > Compact & Repair Database.

Now all the tables and items should be working .
    It solved my problem!
    Enjoy.
