Question ACCESS 2016 runtime rtns won't install

I use Windows 10 (64-bit) and Office 16 (64-bit). I want to install 2016 MS Access runtime routines from Microsoft. After it downloads and I start the install, I get the following error:

We can't install the 64-bit version of Office because we found the following 32-bit programs on your PC.

    Office 16 Click-to-run-Extensibility

Please uninstall all 32-bit Office programs then retry installing 64-bit Office. If you want to install 32-bit Office instead, please run the 32-bit setup.

There is much discussion about the Extensibility piece and I don't feel comfortable about deleting it (unless I can simply replace it w/ 64-bit). It sounds like a Microsoft issue because it's their product keeping me from installing another MS product.

Anyone run into this, and what is the best solution?

    Thanks, Bob

not addressing your question directly but you can't normally install two versions of the same program on the same machine.

If you have the full version, why do you want to install runtime? If you want to see how an app behaves under runtime, change the file extension from accdb/e to accdr

From what I've googled about it , it looks like it is leftover stuff from a demo copy of office the PC makers install but I could be wrong.
There are many sites with instructions on removing it.

I don't have either one. First I tried the runtime before I realized its the full version I need. I'm thinking ahead a little - if I had this issue with just the runtime, will I have the same with the full version?

    Hey that was great.
I'm wondering why that piece is there in the first place since it keeps us from installing other MS stuff. I've read in some discussions that removing this causes other issues.
    What to do?

Contact Micorsoft to confirm whether you can remove the program or not??
