Access V95 format, was using with Access (Office) 2003, want to use in V2016

When I last used a particular MDB it was with Access 2003. When I open the mdb on a computer running V2003 I am presented with the opportunity to convert from V95. The end goal is to be able to use the database on a machine running v2016. I would appreciate suggestions.

Were you not prompted to convert the last time you opened the 95 version with a 2003 version? Some db's need to be converted in stages, and IIRC, you would need to convert 97 to something newer (e.g. 2000, 2003, 2010) before getting to 2016, seeing as how (IIRC) 2016 won't even open a 97. You are asking about a db that's even older than 97.

So whatever you do, do NOT do anything to the only copy of the 95 version that you have. Have at least one backup copy before doing any conversions. Once you have successfully converted from stage 1 to any other interim stage, have another backup copy.
I am more familiar with stepping up from 97 as opposed to 95 so maybe someone will correct me, but...

I believe you can convert from 95 to 2003, then from 2003 to 2016; however I am pretty sure you will not be able to go from 95 to 2016 directly.

Just to confirm what Micron wrote. The oldest format that can be opened by recent versions of Access is from A2000.
You will need to convert in stages.
When I last did this for a client I converted Access 2.0 MDB to 97 then 2003 then finally to an ACCDB file that ran successfully in Access 365.
In that case, it ran perfectly without any additional code changes. You may not be so lucky and have to do some additional work.
