    Linked boxes?

    Hello,

I'm not a Form guy and could really use some help pointing me in the right direction.

I need to create a subform(s) that will link 2 boxes together side by side. They need to grow together based on the size of each other.
The box on the left could have 1 or more results, the same for the box on the right.
The form will need to continue from 1 to 18.
I made a mock up below. Numbers are of no import and sorting will be handled by the query.

    1L 90111103880
    90111103881
    90111103883
    90111103884
    1R 90111103882
    2L 90111103885 2R 90111103888
    3L 90111103886
    90111103887
    3R 90111103889
    4L 90111103890
    90111103892
    90111103893
    4R 90111103891
    90111103894
    90111103895
    5L 90111103897 5R 90111103898
    90111103899
    90111103900
    6L 90111103901 6R
    7L 90111103902 7R 901111039003

Any direction you could provide would be much appreciated.
I can't think of what this design might be called in order to look it up.

controls can't grow on forms (the property only applies when the form is printed), only reports. so perhaps use a report as your subform - which ignores query sorting, so you need to do your sorting in the report design.

with regards the data this very much depends on your table design and relationships - perhaps look at using the 'concatrelated' function - http://allenbrowne.com/func-concat.html

with regards the boxes, you can use some vba in the report format event to adjust sizes, or just use horizontal lines and the line method - https://access-excel.tips/add-vertic...access-report/

    Not really enough info.
What do you mean by "....will link 2 boxes together side by side....."?
How is 1L related to 1R?

The form will need to continue from 1 to 18.
Does this mean you have 1L/1R - 18L/18R?

Maybe use a tab Control with 18 pages. 1L and 1R on the first page (tab), 2L/2R on the second page (tab), etc...
