Forms duplicate one record but duplicate is not in the main source table.

    Hello, big mystery:

I have a main Table with primary key (not possible to have two record with same primary key) linked to other secondary tables.
I have a form in which I input datas creating every time a new record.
But one record is DUPLICATED in the form.
I explain...in the form i have TWO record N° 98, and as a matter of fact the form in the lower left corner says I have 99 records, but if I go in the main table I have only 98.
Record # 98 is duplicate. I cannot have delete #99 without deleting also #98.
I hope is clear, can someone please help out?

Your form must be bound to a query that creates that duplicate by joining the main query to some other table that has two records for # 98.

    FORM creates DUPLICATE RECORD

Dear Bob, thanx for the help...but my database is too big I do not know how to post it (is 1.67GB)

Dear Gicu, thanx for the help...I have tried to localize the query that could duplicate the duplicate in the form...but unsuccessfully. How can I found out...?

Do a Compact and Repair, then Zip it. If the file is still too big, go back and remove data or other parts like tables, queries, forms, reports etc that are NOT needed to illustrate your problem. Then do a Compact and Repair, then Zip it.

Start with the form that shows the duplicate, change it to Design view and look at its record source property. If you click on the "builder" (the three dots on the right) that source will open in design view.

I repaired and compacted, but is still 1.2GB.
Where shall I send it to by the way?

At that size after compacting, I'm going to guess that you have a whole lot of forms and/or reports and maybe embedded pictures in controls and maybe even attachments like pics or documents in tables. You must be almost at the maximum file size for Access before compacting. I'm thinking that at 1.2 GB it's not going to compress (zip) enough for this forum. If so, you will need to copy, compact again and then remove any tables with images or files to start with. I cannot recall the max size allowed to upload here, so if that doesn't help you need to remove some forms and reports. Some/many here won't or can't download a db from your drop box type of location. It is preferred that you upload it here.
