Split a database thats tables are already linked to SharePoint?

I want to split a database because its getting pretty big with all the reports that need to be part of it.
I'm currently at 13,000 lines of data in a table and about 200 reports. Every time I try to split the database, it tells me there are no tables and generates a blank back end. Is there a way around this? Or is it just impossible to split a database thats tables are already linked to SharePoint?

When you split your database, all your data tables reside in the back-end, and all your queries, forms, reports, and most VBA reside in the front-end (with all the data tables being linked to the back-end).
However, if your tables are already linked to Sharepoint (and do not reside in the Access database), then there is nothing to split off into the back-end.

So it appears that what you already really have is a "front-end", and Sharepoint is acting as the back-end.
