Cash drawer connected to thermal printer

I need to open the cash drawer by pressing a button
My current solution is to send a blank report to the printer which in turn opens the cash drawer.
The problem is, even that the report is blank and width=0 and height=0, the printer is still printing a very small blank page while opening the drawer


What changes should I make to the report so that it will print nothing while opening the drawer?

So it is impossible to send a report to the printer and then ask the printer not to print it.
I read that the cash drawer opens by sending shell commands to the printer, do you have any idea about this?
