Smile Basic DB to record Students Courses PLEASE HELP

Hi I am new to this forum and really really need some help pleeze.

I have been asked to create a database to record the courses which students have completed and then they are due for renewal.
I have created a table for the student personal details, and created a table to list approx 40 courses.
I have an idea of what I would like the form to look like..... the Student personal details at the top of the page and a list of the courses they have completed (which prob will not be all 40), the date they completed and the date it is due for renewal at the bottom like

COURSE DATECOMPLETED DATE TO BE RENEWED
    Course 1 00/00/00 00/00/00
    Course 4 00/00/00 00/00/00
    Course 12 00/00/00 00/00/00

I will attempt to have a drop down list for the course name(to ensure to errors are made when inputting).

I need to be able to create queries to give me details of students who need to renew within a specific date criteria.

I really hope this makes sense and would greately appreciate any help anyone can give.

    Many Many Many Thanks
    Lisa

    Hi littleliz,

Do you have a specific question? Something on which you are stuck? Is there a part that is not working?

Note - I recommend you begin with your data model. You haven't mentioned if you have a child table ("tblStudentCourse"?) between "tblStudent" and "tblCourse".

    Cheers,

I don't agree. We're not here to work on projects.

Ok littleLiz, don't just upload you DB with tables and ask how to finish the project, you need to seperate it into several steps, create one or more new issues for each step, for example:
1 how to create a form as your description to show students
2 how to create a subform to show courses of "current" student
3 how to create a dropdown to show course name
4 how to create a query for students with renewal required courses

if you don't have your table ready yet, add one step in the beginning:
0 how to design student tables with courses

Of course, get everything done by posting issues and wait for answer is time consuming. if you have some Access experience, search from internet to get answer is much faster. if you are new to Access, you may need someone to guide you step by step.

Thanks to all that took the time to reply, I very much appreciated it.
I think I have sussed it..... by searchin the web.
I would have loved to just asked someone to do it for me but as I have to maintain the db which is used by many people, I had to make sure I knew all the nitty gritty about it incase things go wrong.
Again I thank you for your replies
