Query to Find Previous Date of Data Entry from the Same Account Number

Hi I am pretty new to Access but very familiar with excel. I am working on a database of water meter data from a large campus. Each meter is connected to a separate account number. For each new entry of water meter data - the date billed, date of reading, amount of usage, etc - I would also like to create a column that states the previous meter reading date. I could do this manually, but when working with such a large set of data, I would rather have this automated. I've been trying to create a query to do this using dlookup, but I'm having trouble getting the query to find the previous meter reading date for each separate specific account number.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
