    Navigation form

    Hi,

I want to place all query search forms in the navigation form to make it easy to see for a manager. However, I've bumped into a problem. The tracing criteria Forms!FormName!Combo_box_name that I use in my query does not follow into a navigation form. How can I fix it??? SOS help me...

Navigation forms are tricky to use. The syntax required has some quirks.
Suggest you instead create your own form to manage this functionality.

What do you mean by creating my own form? How can I insert all of my query forms into one and then allow the manager to switch among them?

Not sure what you mean by all your query forms.
I meant for you to create a switchboard type form. Add button each of which open another form or report as appropriate.

See if you can adapt this.
It can list all the queries in a listbox. Clicking on a query will run it.

The listbox also shows reports and forms. You can dump them if not needed.

What is the query used for? Where is combobox located?

I have never used Navigation form. I use regular form with a Tab control.

If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

If relevant, see this link for my version of what davegri suggested http://www.mendipdatasystems.co.uk/v...cts/4594424205
This utility allows you to view/edit all database objects - tables, queries, forms, reports, modules and macros.

a note on navigation forms that I don't see mentioned above:
    - a navigation form only loads one subform at a time. Switch to another tab and the prior form unloads and the selected one loads. Therefore there is no such thing as referencing or affecting a form that isn't visible, because it's no longer loaded.
The more we hear silence, the more we begin to think about our value in this universe.
