    It opens fine for me.
Which Call Log Form are we suppose to use?

Can you lead us through an example using data/records from your posted database to get to a specific issue/problem?

    HI,

really more an idea of the functionality that i want

i tend to want to work around a call log screen- i would runa query looking for the last follow up dates (eg that need following up) these i also use fr new contact dates.

when i do or dont make contact i would record a comment on the call - this would be great to see as a pop out screen of the comment table just for that specific customer eg by pressing a button -clients comments in last date order)

I can me running a report by follow up date - working thorugh it by phine and or email - then adding the follow up comment intot he comment table.

    pretty simple really

    i ceated 3 forms
new customer eg daves cars ( as I may have more than one contact there)
new customer contact ( to add specific conatcs emails numbers etc)
call log table - the table i would work through when actually calling them or sending follow up email - when follow up id add a comment

should eb easy but the nuances of making it look great and work simple are what im looking to learn

you guys have taught me alot already

Give us a few test scenarios with some sample data so readers/tester can see what you are trying to do.
As has been said, get your tables and relationships designed and vetted before getting too deeply into forms and "making it look great".

Provide details and/or messages for errors/issues/problems doing something specific.

    Hi Orange,

Ok ill try but I'm new to this so apologies in advance if it isnt what your expecting.

    i have 3 screens(forms)

    customer screen- log the account
customer contact screen - add a contact to a customer ( one customer might have more than 1 contact )
customer log screen - when i contact the customers i make a log of the contact - what was discussed etc -action requird and date is a specific action is required

I would like this screen (eg customer contatc log ) to be the one i use.

previously i have run a report by date to follow up order then run through the contacts - if the comment screen popped out that wouldeb great showing older comments in recent date order)

A plain English description of the "business" this database is intended to support would be useful to readers. We don't need (at this point) a step by step button to push etc. Just simple English --an answer to -- so what will this database support? Can you give an example in overview?

Using the data model/tables and relationships from post #55, have you tried the "stump the model" approach provided in post #34?

I suggest you describe each field in each table so we get a clear picture of what you have/are working with.
For example, what does Comments represent in tblCustomerContacts? How does that differ from the Comments table?

You seem to want to focus on Forms, but as has been suggested -getting your tables set up to store the info you need in a Normalized manner will simply querying and reporting.

    Good luck.

Hi there- I contact buyers of stores- a lot of them to sell them merchanidise-often they have an area or more than one i deal with.
they dont review or look at these products on a constant basis so you basically have to keep calling back to get an area ot quote-then follow up at a relevant date.
    so my process would be;
set a customer up eg a retailer
then list a particular customer contact eg dave jones with his contacts
then i go through the call log and contact customers having 2 scenarios - 1 i get an action required eg quoute or 2 i set a follow up date
the comments table is to log any comments i make during the call -Click image for larger version.
