    DB Size

    I imported data from excel to Access and created one query. The combined size of the excel files was 236 MB and the Access file is 814 MB. Why is the Access file so large and is there any way to clean up the data or reduce the file size?

    Imports and such create bloat. Try this to shrink it:

    Office Button/Manage/Compact and Repair
    Paul (wino moderator)

    set file property "compress" on in windows will save space on disk.
