Desired Format for Auto Number field and Bar Code Printing!

    Hi

I am using this as desired format for auto number field "BCC"000000 which is giving desired results "BCC"000001 and so on.

At the report, i am using the bar-code font for bar coding printing with ="*" & [TestID] & "*" and its only print the numerical series like 1 or 2 and so on at barcode.

how to format the bar code field to get the bar code as for "BCC"000001?

Is that filter criteria with wildcard characters? Wildcard should be used with LIKE operator, however, really only works with text data, not numeric. Format property does not change the data. Use Format function to cast to a string value. Calculate a field in query and apply filter criteria to that field.

    BCC: "BCC" & Format([TestID],"000000")

Criteria of LIKE *1* will return all BCC with the digit 1 in any position. Is that what you want?

    Hi

No, there is no any filter. the purpose to use the wildcard to just show or print such formats for each kind of different transactions with their own unique auto number series. Like for customers ID "Cus000001" and for Suppliers "Sup000001" etc.

The reason to look for ="*" & "BCC" & Format([BCCode],"000000") & "*" was to print barcode on reports.

It is done and thanks for your usual help.
