Yes the test works fine.
the strcompactadd is a new field in the query,
strCompactAdd: CanShrinkLines([ADDRESS2],[ADDRESS2],[TOWN],[COUNTY],[PC])

Yes, the test works fine??
I added the strcompactadd into a new field within the query
strCompactAdd: CanShrinkLines([ADDRESS2],[ADDRESS2],[TOWN],[COUNTY],[PC])
That looks fine. If you open the forms underlying query in datasheet view do you get sensible results?
Edit : Have you enlarged the text box to allow you to see the full result ?

Yes, it just only shows one of the field instead of all 5 combined???
Okay that is weird.
Can you upload some a stripped down database with some sample data and the query / form or report you are using for me to have a look?
