    Sharing Access file using OneDrive?

    Hi everyone,

So I am trying to share my access file with a group of people (5-10), where there is an interactive form users can use (like a search engine). However, I cannot seem to get it to work once I share it on OneDrive - when a colleague opens it, it displays an error and the form is blank.

    I have tried the following:
    1. Split the access file into BE and FE - do I share both BE and FE onto the OneDrive folder?
    2. Didn't split the file and just shared the access file as it is - it seemed to work with a different file that was shared by one of my other coworkers with a useable form, but it doesn't work with my file for some reason.

Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated - or is there any way I can change the settings to the file not being "read-only"?

You should never allow multiple users to run the same copy of the FE (or an unsplit database) no matter where it is located.
Similarly users should never be working on a FE where the Access BE is stored in the cloud e.g. OneDrive or Dropbox

Both of those have a significant probability of causing corruption though for different reasons.

Similarly do not allow wireless connections if possible.

    Ah thanks for the insight.

What would you recommend to do in terms of sharing an access file then? No modifications to the file is necessary at all when given to the users - the only thing they need to do is just to use the form.

backend on your server, front end on each users machine, and each user is connected by hardwired LAN.

If this is not your setup, then look into using remote desktop as an alternative.
