Dollar sign appearing in 1 column of multiple queries

I have an issue with a dollar sign appearing in a single column for multiple queries. The table used for the queries does not have a dollar sign and is formatted exactly the same as other columns. I did insert the column into the table after initially importing the table. Any ideas as to what can cause this and how to solve?

Usually the $ appears for fields that have currency data type in table design.

I sometimes use currency for non-currency, numerical data because it can eliminate rounding errors that crop up in other data types such as single or double.

In any event, you can format the query output (and eliminate the $) by right clicking on the field in the query design grid, choose Properties, then Format.
