Auto updating table

I have a form our receiving department is using to log all tracking numbers received by a certain carrier. I have built a small form they can scan the barcode into. My question is, once they have scanned the tracking number, how can i get that to automatically be entered into the table i have as its control source and be ready for the next one to be scanned. I would guess it would be the after update function, but im not sure what code to have in the after update section (assuming that is the correct place). Any help would be great!

also if it helps, i already have a button that i made to manually enter it. is there any way to call that button in the after update(or where every the code would go)
