Form with multiple variables that use the same look up table, auto populate from look up table

    Hello,

To begin with, I want to say that I do not have any experience with coding etc. I'm up for learning if this would be the only way to complete the task I want to do...

I have a table to track manuscripts, this includes several variables including one for each author (i.e. Author1 Author2 Author 3....)
Each Author variable is a look up value that comes from another table with Author details (Name, Affiliation, email)

In the Manuscript form, I would like to select Author1 from the lookup menu I have set up, and then have that auto-populate other variable/text boxes with the author's details (Affiliation, email etc) And then do the same thing for Author2

Is this possible? I can get it to work for Author1, however the relationship can only exist for one Author per manuscript, so Author2 cannot autopopulate

    Thanks!

Can you post your relationship diagram jpg here, or better yet the entire database?

Is this the piece you were looking for?
I can't post the database/content due to confidentiality restraints.

No, I was expecting the picture of all the tables with the arrows showing the relationships.

It looks like your form/subform setup is such that the main form shows an author, and the subform shows manuscripts.
From your description of what you want, it should be the other way around,
Main form showing manuscripts, and subform showing authors.

Maybe you would make a copy of the dB, delete all of the data, do a "Compact and Repair", zip it and post it???
You could maybe add some made up data: "The Life Of Pumpkin PI" by "Samual Pieman".......

It sounds like you might have some table design issues.

Without knowing the table designs and the relationships, it is difficult at best to offer possible solutions.
