need some assistance

the two access files i sent you is pretty much what is required accept one or too more text box's on the job card form but i cannot get the job card form to display the instructions linked to the part numbers. if i can get that to show and save it to the new table i can add the other text box's related to the job card. this is really a simplistic ''program'' its not gonna have anything hectic going forward.

When you start a Job, is it for 1 or many Parts?
Where do departments and stations fit?

only 1 part goes onto a job card, instructions(instructions vary from part to part) . There is 3 things that happen to the parts - 1 machine shop makes part with instructions - 2 part gets polished - 3 goes to plating

Just for clarity.
A Customer or Order starts a process.
There is an Order for Product. The Product consists of 1 or many Parts.
Each Part is made according to certain Instructions and Specifications.
It seems the Part is made can be broken into steps:
Is machined, then is Polished, then is Plated (and possibly more -- is assembled, is wrapped/packaged)
Is this where the different Departments and stations fit?

I'm just trying to put your terminology into a complete picture.

Me manufacture goods. You have the just of it. With the printed job card i have 1 person going from station to station checking the progress. Then coming back to pc to update the table

your flow diagram is pretty accurate. The just of it is the polishing and plating has no other dynamic to it. very simple process. items get dipped its that simple.
