In 2016 Access Reports, Why is the Group Header limiting my Textbox to 255 characters?

I have a text box in a sorted group header on a report that only displays 255 characters, even though the field is set to Long Text in the Table. If I move the Textbox into the Detail section of the report, it works fine. How can I make the full text display in the Group Header above the Detail Section?

PS: I have the Can Grow and Can Shrink settings turned on and it works in the detail section, but I want it in the header section.

    Thank you in advance!

Because Access can't group on strings longer than 255 characters so memo (long text) fields are truncated. Review http://allenbrowne.com/ser-63.html

I'm not Grouping in the subquery used for the Record Source of the report. I'm trying to group in design view of the report, mostly for appearance - does that make a difference? I'm a beginner ...

It's the same thing. Grouping in query or grouping in report. Same rules.

Shoot - I was hoping there was a way. I tried a Combo Box too but didn't seem to make a difference. I really appreciate you responding!
