    custom mask

I have a nine digit number and i want it to be displayed like 1-2345-6789

how do i add the dashes?

also, is there a way to validate a number to make sure it always has exactly nine digits or else it's considered an invalid number?

In an Input Mask, you can use a backslash (\) to denote a special character. If you use the Wizard to create a custom Mask, it should be smart enough to do that for you.

I think you are talking about something like a serail number (text), if so use the len function to check the length..

    hope that helps
