    Need help with replication

    Hello,

i just took over a 2000 access database, and was asked to resolve a problem with Database replication. the problem is the following:

I open the master DB and performs the database replication with a slave DB. after the process, i get a message that there replication errors, and it offers me the option to resolve them. I click on yes (to resolve replication errors), but nothing happens. I don't get a screen to resolve conflicts.

I tried another thing: I opened the master DB and went to tools -> replication and then chose the option to resolve conflicts. No window is opened and nothing happens!

this is driving me crazy! would appreciate any help!

    Thanks!

honestly I haven't operated a live replication environment in a long time and no longer remember the details. Get yourself the AccessXP (2000) textbook - which should be easily found at Amazon used. Are the replication errors inside a newly created table that holds these? This is what occurs for errors of an import - Access creates an 'import errors' table... just a guess..look for that.

what's happening is there is a conflict between the 2 sources of data and you are being given the opportunity to select which is the version you want to keep.

I know you are tasked with an immediate fix - and so the long term view may not be relevant; but replication is phased out of the .accdb format that is the future of the product line unless one is using a sharepoint hub. just fyi.

    Hi NTC,

    Thanks for your reply.

I was also assuming Access would create error log tables, but it didn't! Moreover, when i get the message box stating that there is a data conflict, I am not presented with the opportunity to choose what version to preserve: I click on "OK" (i.e: resolve conflicts), the message box is closed and the process stops here.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
