Access 2016 Crashes when creating from template

OS Windows 8 and Windows 10
For example, open Access, select a template [doesn't matter which one], crash. Every time.
This happens on my work machine [networked on a domain], home laptop and home desktop. It doesn't matter where it is saved, either networked drive or local drive with full rights.
What makes it strange is that I can accomplish the same task on my wife's laptop or her work machine [no domain]. The biggest difference is that I have SQL 2012/2016 loaded on all of my machines complete with all of my DBA tools including SSMS 2012/2016/2017

I just tested this again with a fresh box that I built for my wife's work last night and again, it worked perfectly with no crashes. Is there a compatibility issue with Access installed on a machine with SQL 2012/2016 along with SSDT?
