you can't use find or replace now

    Hello Chaps.

Access 365, trying to get switchboard to work

I set up a small table for experiment and selected switchboard manager to try and get a switchboard to work
I used sweitchboard manager's suggestion to open a form in add mode
when I click on this form the error says "you can't use find or replace now"
I have probably left something out-
can anyone suggest what may be wrong"

    TIA
    Fred Evans

I've never used the switchboard, don't like it. Prefer a normal form with normal command buttons and VBA code. There's a reason MS deprecated the switchboard wizard - at least made it harder to find.

Does your form have any code behind it?

What does clicking on the form have to do with the switchboard?

If the switchboard opens the form in ADD mode, the form opens blank. Maybe you have code in the form_open event or form_current event that is trying to run the replace function and there's nothing to replace or the textbox referenced by the code doesn't have the focus... or something else restricting the function. You will probably have to comment out the replace function, and when the form is working OK, find a way to do the replace after data is present.
