Extra space added

My forms (and reports) aren't sorting properly. I have a table with a Number, Direction (ex. N, S, NE, etc.), and Street fields among many others. The direction field is usually blank. When I add a new record, I just tab over the direction field if it's blank. These added records show an extra blank space between the number and street fields on the form and report which throws off the sorting. The strange thing is that 1) they sort properly in the query, and 2) on the existing fields which display properly, there is some type of blank character (maybe a NBSP?) in the Dir field. I don't know what that character is, but it results in only one space between the Number and Street fields. If I could figure out what the character is, I could enter it as the default value in the direction field. Also, I am able to delete the character so that all records sort properly, but then all the records show an extra space, which I don't want. Any ideas?

Never mind. I figured it out. It had to do with my IIf statement. I fixed it.
