Change linked table reference automatically

I have a database which uses an excel spreadsheet as the source for one of its tables. I know I can link the spreadsheet (read access only required) directly in Access without importing it. The problem is, the file changes its name daily (the filename includes the date), so any link would not work after the re-name.

Is there a way to automatically re-link the file with the new name, for example in VBA using an event procedure?

Sure; check out TransferSpreadsheet in VBA help. One of the options is to link to a spreadsheet.
