    Updating a database

When I open an earlier version of my db, that I have been working on the message pops up that says the db needs to be updated. I do not understand. it is still using MS Access 2010. So what is there to update. This is just a saved earlier version.

    That is all.

Any help appreciated. thanks in advance.

I am attaching a screenshot of the error message. I never got this before.

    Respectfully,

    Lou Reed

    Repair and Compress maybe?

Is it an .mdb or some other very old format?

I think that this db is in the .accdb format. It was only created last Fall, using MS Access 2010.

Thanks for your help. Any additional ideas please let me know, I am just stuck/confused on why this is happening.

Does running through the menu do anything?

I assume you mean the V-Tools menu. The answer is I have already done so. Once, I tried the V-Tools option of not just find all instances of Attendence, but find all instances and change each to Attendance.

It went through the db and changed nothing although it did find the two instances of Attendence as before. It just did not change them.

    Go figure.

I don't know what vtools is to be honest. I mean if you just click okay and follow it through does it actually update?

No it does not. That part is very confusing. It I supposed to run and find instances of a string and make changes. It does not change them. It still finds them however.

This question has been overcome by events (OBE). The original author of the db put this notice in - no one else. I just bumped into during a morning fire drill and all is well.

    Thanks for your input.
