manually import a file, click Advanced tab, load the spec name,
all the specs will show.
The target table is not stored here. The spec only tells how the fields are defined.
importing is done via query or macro that uses the spec as a param.
Thanks ranman256, but that's not import specification I'm interested in.
My question is about Saved Imports functionality (ribbon External Data, button Saved Imports). Need to find out what particular import specification (out of hundred existing) it is associated with, what table it is working against.
Oh sorry. I dont use them. I attach the external file and run a query to import.
Normally I do not use them either, preferring to either link or import via code with a particular specification, but this is not my db, and in order to support it I need to determine which specifications in use by which Saved Import.
I need information about this post please. I built a procedure with VBA code that uses the TransferText method to import a .csv file into an Access table. All works great until I created a new database in the production area and tried to import the "Import Specification" that I saved and referred to in my code into the new database. The code can't find the input specification and so it stops with an error that the spec is missing. Is there something I'm missing that I need to know without creating the input spec in the new database?
