The combo will not let a selecion in it

In another post I was asking a lot of questions about the use and creation of a combo box. I thought that I was finished.

I find out today when I tried to use the combo box opened easily enough, but when I selected a entry (a name in my case) the computer
made a musical sound and then refused to let the entry register (or go into the box).

    What'the.

I immediately checked the data tab form the MS Access 201 object.

    It reads:

    Locked - No
    Enabled - Yes.

This seems correct so what else could it be.

All of my other boxes allow me to enter data. They are not combo boxes though,
    they are textboxes.

I could create the combo box all over again and it would probably work, but I just
want to know what is preventing data entry.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

what are the choices in the combo?
it must match the bound field to accept the value.
check the bound column to see if it is putting the correct column into the field.
    and the table accepts edits.

WHat is wrong with this combo box?

I have uploaded the compressed db and attached it to this post. I am unable to determine why
I cannot select a name and have the email address appear in the textbox immediately below
    the selected name.

As I said earlier in this post. It worked quite well yesterday.

It does not work at all now.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is the value in Combo Box match the bound field data type? Or is the combo box value too long to go into the Bound field length?

I am not sure what you mean. It worked earlier and now it does not. I will check out what I think that you said.

Try the initial entry in the frmEmail form for the attached db.

I am not sure what you mean when you say "is the combo box value too long to go into the Bound field length? "

    Please explain.

On the combobox, look at the Control Source and see what field you are saving the data to. Go to that table and make sure the datatype matches. For instance that you are not trying to save a text string into a numeric field. The 2nd part is what it says, if your combo box value is 20 characters but the field you are saving it to is only 10, I think it will error(unless it chops the value off at 10).

One combo box works the original does not

In my record source for frmEmail is tblPersonnel. I have a first name and a last name fileld. To get the full name in a separate filed, I just

concatenate the first name and the last name for my full name filed. This make the full name field a calculated field, not a text field as the first name and last name field are shown to be.

    Could that be the problem?

I have actually copied the combo to another part of the form and enlarged it. It seems to work so far. But why does not the initial one not work?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
