Is there an easy way to reorder an auto number field?

Is there an easy way to reorder an auto number field?

My friend has a list that he wants to export to excel and it is an auto number field, when he exports the list he wants it to be in a certain order but accidently put them in the wrong order. Is there a way to renumber them easily?

    Thanks for any help.

sort of depends; - - make a new field in the table, let's call 'Order' and make it a number field..... then you can go in there and put in a number in each record - - use this field to sort - - not autonumber field...

that's the easy way....there is a way to change autonumber values but it isn't easy...

How does your friend want it ordered? Are you using a query for your exports?

No query for the exports, just exporting the table. Its not hard to change the order of the one table the only tricky part is changing the order of a table thats relationship is linked to the autonumber field. I can do it manually was just wondering if there was a simple function or something that access had but it looks like that is not the case. Thanks for your time fellas.
