    Weird Query error

I have a query based on 2 tables. If I run the query with no criteria everythings fine. However the report requires a number of criteria. Product line must be Senior, Measure type must be "Star", Year of Measure must be 2016. As soon as I put in any criteria the Provider's name field changes to either wingding characters or Chinese. I'm not sure which. I've rebooted my PC and we've rebooted the Server. Hasn't changed anything. Anybody have an idea. I tried rebuilding the query from scratch but it does the same thing. this is what I get for the name. Should be Like Smith, John instead I get "위ԫ" The data in the table displays correctly.

sounds like your field is a memo datatype. If so, see this link

Thanks Ajax it was a Memo field. I have a Macro that runs in the morning at 5 that brings some tables down from SQL Server to my local copy of Access. The SQL Server DB was created by our Corporate HQ and when all of the user's are in during the day My Reporting queries slow things down for everyone. I only use about 7 of the over 300 views that they've created so I just download them every morning to Access. That one field is a name field but they have it for 512 characters. I've adjusted my query that copies that data to my PC so it only grabs the left 255. Now it's a text field and works perfectly. Thanks again, I would've never thought to check that.
