Question The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process

Hi, so it looks like I have a corrupt access database. I had the .mdb file open in MS Access 2003 and it was running a batch file (collecting data from some records). It got stuck and I closed it. When I try to reopen it, it asks me for the password like always but then I get the following error message:

"The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time."

Is there any way to fix this and if not is there maybe a way to extract the data from it?

    Thanks for helping,
    Philip

    Hi,

try opening the database while pressing the shift key, so no startup code is performed. Then try the option compact and repair. It might help.
