Expand/Collapse table/form row to show additional information

    Hi.

I have a database where the entries have mostly minor bits of information which works well when shown in a table or a form with a tabular layout. However, I would like to include a field for a short description (for example 250 characters max) which takes up a lot of space if simply shown in a table.

Is there a simple way of making it so that each entry is collapsed, and that the user have to expand the entry in order to show additional information? Do I have to use a subform? If so, how? I've tried toying around with it, but it seems like you can only use existing tables as the basis of a subform.

You can use a continuous non subForm. Add a button right of the text to 'expand' the big field.
This would open a pop up form to show a large textbox.
    docmd.openform "frmMemo",,,"[id]=" & me.id
