table does not show after importing file

Has anyone ever imported a file (excel or text) into access and after importing, the table does not appear in the list? However after closing and re-opening access, the table appears. Anyone know why this happens and how to prevent it?

if you are importing it manually there's really nothing you can do
if you're doing it with code, you can force a refresh of the table list. (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib.../ff194960.aspx)

You don't actually need to close the database, just 'refresh' the window which you can do by changing the options (custom view, then back to object type)
