    Novice needs help building

I work for a small government office. We have just a few employees who perform a set of tasks. the task depends on what is needed or done for the day, as things arise. I am trying to streamline our tracking of these tasks. There are about 30 tasks and 9 employees. I want to log who did what, the day, the time, the town it was in, and any notes the employee want's to add. In summary, 30 tasks, 9 employees, 2 towns by date, time. employees get a drop down to enter their name, then what day, time, then task, then town, and notes. Also, each task may come up multiple times in a day for each person.

    Help..

    Thanks.

First step would be to decide what tables will be needed

ok. I assume the 30 tasks would be a table, the 9 employees a table?, the two towns?. but what do you do with the date/time picker? I am seriously a noobie... pretty much zero DB knowledge. then I assume some sort of form to enter the data. and I have zero idea on how to put the relationships together. My boss also would like some reporting by town, employee, task, date. so he can search and see by what ever criteria entered.

am I crazy for thinking this is a good way to track this stuff?

    Thanks.
