Filter By Form Report (combobox issue)

i am using this help page to create a report based of my filter by form.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/208548

when i apply the filter to the form, the filter applies correctly. but as soon as i try to put those results into a report i get boxes asking me to enter in asset_typeID.

problem is that when i filter with combo boxes, it returns the name of the asset_type and not the asset_TypeID.
ex. for laptops the ID = 4

so if i filter for laptops the filter = "laptops" but it needs to = 4

i have ensured that the bound column is for the asset_typeID

is there anyway to fix this? i for the life of my cannot figure it out.

The Filter property does not have the correct syntax.

I think that it should be

    “Lookup_Asset_TypeID.Asset_Type=’” & “Laptop” & “’”
