Error message Either an object bound to th etable is open...

    Hi everyone,

If anyone please share their experience in handling the error message in Access 'Either an object bound to table is open or another user has the table open', I'd be grateful!

I get this error when I a trying to open a form in design view and can't understand why.

    Than you!

Did you open your database using the <SHIFT> key?

It bypasses any startup code you may have. It is worth a try.

It worked! Thanks so much. So, if I open a database every time with <Shift> it should solve most of the errors I get?

Will you be kind enough to help with another problem I have too? I imported data from Excel file to Access blank file without any problem, but when I tried to do it again later, it lost some data and contained Null values. I decided to save the Excel file in text and transferred successfully. But when I tried to do it again later, it again created null values! I am really puzzled why it does this and what should I do?

and ahh, I now tried to rename the split table after closing it but again got the error 'In use by someone else..'. I opened it with <Shift> earlier. What should I do now?

No, now the 'Compact and Repair Database' is not helping either. I now tried to view one of the tables in Design view and again getting the error '..Either an object bound to table is open or another user has the table open.. I also opened it earlier with <Shift>...

I'm sorry but I was not getting any notifications of your posting. You may be dealing with some sort of corruption. Try *importing* your db into a fresh new db. It only takes a minute. http://btabdevelopment.com/how-to-im...-new-mdb-file/

No worries, thanks very much fr the link, it's very useful! I am just still not sure why this corruption happens as it is quite frequent, wondering if it's one of the common glitches Microsoft should look into..

Is this a split database? Are more than one user in it at the same time?

No, there are no other users whatsoever, just me on my laptop. The excel file has 2 worksheets but the text files are separate for individual worksheets. The tables themselves are not split, they contain duplicate records such as first names..

Sorry but I've been without internet since the 16th. There's a possibility there could be an issue with ac2010 64bit but I've not heard any evidence to that. Maybe this link will be helpful: http://allenbrowne.com/ser-25.html
