    Index table on Open

We have a table of jobs that I like indexed on the Job ID which is chronological. The secretaries like it indexed alphabetically on the contractor name. How can I make the table automatically index on Job ID each time it is opened?

Why not index both fields? That is the benefit of electronic records over paper records.
You just open the table in design view. Select the field(s) involved and choose the indexed property.
You do not need to reindex each time. That will be handled by the database software.

    Good luck.
