Loading data file from a memory stick. - Error ID is not an index in this table.

We are new to Access and have been teaching ourselves via internet and Utube. We have set up a new data file and imported data from an Excel spreadsheet. We have been saving the data file onto a Memory Stick rather than the Laptop as we are doing this for our car club membership register. We have just tried to open the data file as usual and it comes up with the error ID is not an index in this table. No idea what to do next. Nothing we have found on the internet makes sense to us being newbies. Please help. Karen

It may be the file is corrupted. try copying to your local drive before opening - you may have to start again.
