    Creating Links to Word Docs

    Hi,

I am creating an access database (2003) which will summerise different organisations. Probably about 50 of them altogether. I’ll separately be creating word documents which will have full profiles of these organisations. I wanted to insert a command button in my form that said something like “Download Full Profile” that the user can click to download that particular organisations full profile. Can I do this? Would it be easier to create the full profiles in Access as well and if so how do i do that?

i'm ok at access but not really clued up on writing code or anything like that, just want to create a simple database really.

    thanks

    andy

    Hey Andy,

If these Word Documents are already created, then you can create a table with all of the locations of each of the documents. Then simply run a SHELL() command giving the path of the file that they can select from a list of files on a form. Then have the command button on a form launch MS Word with the file path.

If you need code examples, please let me know,

    Joe P.
