    Microsoft Access over the Network

    Hi,

Bear with me - mainframer here trying to help out some users

They have developed a database and they run monthly imports into a table. The access database and the import files reside on a shared network drive. The user opens a little form, picks the file, and off they go.

The code sets up a recordset and reads a record, issues a docmd to do an SQL insert into the database. When I run this from C drive it takes about 2 seconds. When I run the process from the network drives, it takes about 10 minutes.

I'm wondering if this is an architectural thing or possibly a network issue ? It runs fine on my C drive.

    Thanks for any feedback !

It could be a security issue or maybe the depth of the BackEnd in the servers directory structure (really)! Try moving the BE closer to the root on the server and see what happens.
