Encryption Confusion: Access Thinks Database Is Not Encrypted (Spoiler Alert: It Is)

    Hi,

I have an encrypted database. It's been encrypted for quite a while. I recently made a minor VBA update to it (which shouldn't affect the encryption at all). But now it seems like Access is confused, weird problems:

    1. A lot of the time I enter the right password (because I paste it in) and the "Password Required" thing pops up again Edit: sometimes it lets me through, seems random (no pattern)
    2. When I go to the "File" menu, the button says "Encrypt Database" (as if Access thinks it's not already encrypted) Edit: The button should say "Decrypt Database" instead.
    3. When I try to encrypt the database (with a new password or the old password), I get "Not a valid password" error.
    4. When I try to make an ACCDE, I am prompted for the password again (if I remember correctly, it didn't ask for the password before).

    Any suggestions?

Is this happening with the Access 2010 64-bit version?
