Open "Manage Attachments..." with one click.

Is there a way to open the "Manage Attachments..." with an onclick within a subform query?

I have a query that brings up all tooling listed as damaged, and it would be helpful if the user did not have to right click on the attachments field and select "Manage Attachments..." instead, only click inside the field's row.

    No.

Users should not work directly with tables and queries, only forms and reports.

I agree, but I'm not sure how to handle attachments within a form. from my research, it is very involved in coding.
    If otherwise, please enlighten me!

I can lock down a query's attributes by Enabled = false on fields I do not want a user to be able to change, only have there as info.

I have an idea on how to make this work.
I dont try to create a new record with attachments. I save a record with necessary info, then append the record with the attachments with a bound control.

from my reading, dealing with unbound attachments and creating a record with them is a pain in the....

Yes, programmatically managing attachments is involved but is only alternative to the attachments dialog. The dialog can be opened from form same as table or query.

Embedding lots of large attachments in table can quickly use up Access 2GB size limit. Alternative is external files with filename (with or without full path) saved into text field.

What do you mean by 'creating a record with them'? Are these attachments all image files? Dynamically displaying external images on form or report is really quite simple.
