    macro, expression or code builder??

    HI
Seem to have come on leaps and bounds with my project.

I now have a search from up and working -thanks everyone.

I now want to have one text box that will link to another form revealing more detailed information

I have created a query to show all the fields on a form called FrmSurnameDetail.

When the user clicks in a text box - in my case a text box called GraveID which is a primary keyI want that to open my detail form using that graveID as criteria

When I go to my first form, highlight my text box and select event click I'm offered three options:

    Macro builder

    Expression builder
    Code builder

    Which should I use

    thanks

    Ian

It sounds like maybe you want a Subform. You imbed a Subform into a main Form, linking the two based on some field.
Have a look here for information on Subforms: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...rs=en-US&ad=US
If you do a Google search, you can find a lot of other information and tutorials about Subforms.

    Hi

just a quick notelett to say thanks for the post it was exactly what I wanted and whilst it has not made me an Access Genius, I've grasped the concept of a form leading to a form and an inking of what VBA is about

    thanks again
