I have an Access 2000 database, using vba code to do extensive mail-merging. I have customers who use the database on all versions of Access. In references, I sometimes see Microsoft Visual Basic for Application Extensibility 5.3 and sometimes not.
Could anyone explain how this reference is helping the database, and therefore help me understand, if I should force it to be in refrences.
Thanks.
In the most recent version of the software, when it is being shared I am seeing the following message.
" You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time. If you proceed to make changes, you may not be able to save them later." Data can be entered and saved, but design changes will not be saved.
In trying to test what is happening, if I open the database on a second machine, it actually lets me change the same record that is open on the first machine without any error message, If I open the database on the second machine first, it will not let me open it at all on the second machine.
